r/IOTAmarkets

Welcome to IOTAmarkets! -- IOTA is a quantum-resistant distributed ledger protocol launched in 2015, focused on being useful for the emerging m2m economy of Internet-of-Things (IoT), data integrity, micro-/nano- payments, and anywhere else a scalable decentralized system is warranted. IOTA uniquely offers zero fees, no scaling limitations, and decentralized consensus where users are also validators. The digital currency 'iota' has a fixed money supply with zero inflationary cost.

I'm now running a full node @ home, 15 connections, reachable (as per 21.co's "Global Bitcoin nodes distribution" tool) but... can't find myself on the list. It's been ~48 hours, do I need to do anything else to be fully up and running?

50-60% of global Bitcoin volume is now going to be locked into and transacting over a 100% centralized Blockstream product? Any person who was screaming about keeping their full nodes and that now thinks this is totally awesome.. go seek professional help.

Debunked: "Using Bitcoin as cash is inefficient, because the entire transaction history would have to be stored and synced by all of the nodes in the network. That would be like every email server or every user having to store every email had ever been sent in one global database." /r/btc

If you want Bitcoin to be a global currency then I don't think everyone should be able to run a node.

If bitcoin were local only then everyone having a node wouldn't be a big deal. But as Satoshi described bitcoin, in the paper that we all learned about it from, miners and nodes are likely to be big data centers, something that every city or country can have multiple of, but not every person.
Am I wrong to think this, or by thinking this?
