Reasons why NANO fails and will keep failing until some things change

Dear NANO community,
This is going to be a long post where I will discuss why NANO under performed and will keep under performing in this bull run unless some things change.
I'm going to start up with straight facts with the famous quote of Floyd Mayweather: "Men lie, women lie, numbers don't lie".
If you feel offended by some of this, facts don't care about your feelings.
Technical Analysis
In the time where BTC Dominance fell from peak of 74% to 56% and keeps falling, NANO has moved from its low of 0.0000640 sats to a price of 0.0000950 sats. That is about 50% gain if you bought on the absolute low, but looking at the monthly chart, we can see that NANO has basically been in the range of 0.0001400 sats to 0.0000750 sats ever since July of 2019 (for more than 2 years).
https://charts.cointrader.pro/snapshot/zaXzV
The all time high of NANO was 0.0028, so this price is currently 96% down in terms of BTC .
https://charts.cointrader.pro/snapshot/tTF4J
With this price NANO is falling out of top 100 cryptocurrency based on market cap.

My thoughts: Considering that entire altcoin market is moving and that it keeps reaching new highs, this is very concerning for NANO and one can only ask themselves why does NANO keep falling behind?
Why does on every Bitcoin pump price falls hardest and on every day when other altcoins go up 30%, NANO only goes up 10%.
Reasons why NANO is lagging on the market:
We all know that NANO has near instantaneous transactions and is fee-less which is why most of us fell in love with this cryptocurrency.
Problem is that it has little to no adoption. What does it matter if NANO is feeless, when you don't have an exchange that will make a NANO/USD conversion for 0%.
Who cares if STR, XRP and other fast coins have like 0.01$ fee if either way, exchange will take 1% or more fees from you.?
If XRP has better exchange, they can easily be more cost efficient than NANO because of this problem. Devs need to be much more proactive rather than sit and wait while entire market is eating you alive.
Proposed solution: Nano needs to invest more in marketing and in making a deal with exchange that will be liquid enough and provide little to no fees on NANO.

I am a NANO holder ever since 2018 and it's been a long ride with constant buying at the end of each month with average buy of 2$ when I look at it totally.
This is not that bad considering NANO's massive fall and what some other holders had to go through.
Let's remind ourselves again, NANO has 0% inflation. And yet NANO's price doesn't grow. Where as other cryptocurrencies have 5-10% inflation and they are over-performing NANO massively.
NANO holders get no rewards from holding NANO which is a big problem. People call this an advantage and I somewhat agree, but NANO holders need to be rewarded with something, because crypto space doesn't care about inflation.
Proposed solution: Introduce POS (Proof of Stake) with inflation of 5% where NANO holders will be able to stake their NANO and receive 5% more NANO each year. You can do this or make it 6% and after each 2 years, there is halving of inflation. Imagine how coins get hyped when their rewards per year get cut in half. NANO has 0% inflation and it doesn't get any hype. It's already scarce, but people fail to see it.

Current bull run has been ignited with DEFI and because people see that they can earn up to 3-5% daily income just for holding ERC20 token like BAT, BAL, LINK etc. There's even been introudect WBTC (Wrapped Bitcoin) and WETH (Wrapped Ethereum), which means that people can hold their cryptocurrency which they would hold even if there weren't any rewards and they get 3-5% daily income + the chance of the DEFI coin actually pumping by 1000+% which many of them have done in the past month.
Because of all of this people are massively buying ERC20 tokens just to get these gains daily.
What has NANO do to interact with this entire DEFI space? Absolutely nothing.
Did they try to introduce wNANO (wrapped NANO) like Ethereum and Bitcoin did? No.
They just kept working on some other bullshit even-though protocol is in of itself 99% perfect and working. They keep focusing their energy on technology when technology is already better than anything else on the crypto market. NANO is currently the best fast cryptocurrency and it is not even close.
Proposed solution: Devs need to start focusing energy on things that matter and which will help the price and not dump their stash and blindly look how everything else keeps growing.

This is similar to reason number 2 but it has to be said separately. Just ask yourself, who benefits of BTC markets? Miners.
Who benefits of any other POS market? All of the holders.
And then with this money you can finance devs which will work on the currency and will by this raise the price and the whole cycle repeats itself.
So all of these things have in common that people are making money of doing something for the ecosystem. On one hand resources get paid, on the other people that are loyal to the project.
NANO has one of the best and largest communities in cryptocurrency and numbers confirm this, yet there is no special way for any of us to benefit of of this. Everything is open source and people make everything for free.
Proposed solution: Introduce mechanism so that community members can earn money of holding NANO.

Conclusion: Nano is an amazing currency, but there are many things that need to fall in place in order for it to stop falling behind the market.
It's sad that investing in what is called a "safest" altcoin Ethereum, would've made you much better gains than even buying NANO on the all time low would.
This post is meant to be constructive criticism and to in the end open peoples mind on current problem NANO has in the space.
Please share this post so more people and hopefully devs can see it and so that we all as a community can start working towards our goal of NANO becoming one of most utilized cryptocurrencies in the world.

[ BTC/USD hourly chart ]1
Last week, the Bitcoin price bounced to $11,847, which formed a lower high compared to the previous week. It then dipped to $11,137 and formed a double bottom two days later. It slowly climbed to $11,600 and resumed the upward trend after breaking the resistance at $11,600. The current price is at $11,724.
If the BTC price is able to hold above $11,600, it has a chance to break above the previous high at $11,847 and test $12,000 again. The chart indicates that there is a strong support near $11,150 where the double bottom pattern was formed.
Review of the week:
Hayden Adams, the founder of the decentralized trading protocol Uniswap, tweeted that Uniswap’s 24-hour trading volume was higher than Coinbase for the first time in history. Uniswap’s 24-hour trading volume was US$426 million while Coinbase Pro’s 24-hour trading volume was US$348 million. Crypto analyst Joseph Young commented that it is unbelievable that who would have thought a year ago that a decentralized exchange (DEX) would exceed the trading volume of Coinbase. The explosive growth of DeFi in the past year is inseparable from the greed of human nature. YFI founder Andre Cronje at this year’s Smart Contract Summit said: “the reason there is such a massive influx of money right now is because people are making money in insane amounts, and people are snapping up and selling governance tokens (assets designed to allow people to make decisions on DeFi protocals) to promote the explosion of DeFi. However, this is not the sustainable development part of DeFi. When the “greedy phase” is over, valuable protocols in the DeFi field (such as Synthetix, Compound and Chainlink) will still exist.”

[Researh] In 2017 bitcoin network consumed 5 TWh of energy, in 2018 – 29 TWh, in 2019 – 43 TWh. Banking industry consumes 74 TWh per year.

[Researh] In 2017 bitcoin network consumed 5 TWh of energy, in 2018 – 29 TWh, in 2019 – 43 TWh. Banking industry consumes 74 TWh per year.
Electricity consumed by bitcoin network has been constantly and noticeably increasing. During the past years the consumption reached such big a scale, that it can be compared to electricity consumption of some countries, according to BlockchainAnalytics.pro research.
The world’s first cryptocurrency is steadily becoming more popular and expensive every year. This motivates more individuals and companies to enter the mining business to earn a bitcoin share.

More miners, more efficient equipment

To validate a block of transactions and receive a reward, miners compete with each other by solving a deliberately complicated mathematical task, or puzzle. Those miners who own more computing power (hashrate) have more chances to win the competition. This incentivizes miners to buy more powerful equipment that consumes more electricity.
At the same time, mining equipment efficiency is constantly improving, and with time less electricity is required to produce the same hashrate. This factor allows to slow down the increasing demand for electricity.
For example, in 2016 Bitmain, world’s largest manufacturer of mining equipment, launched the legendary Antminer S9, which consumed 100 watts to produce one terahash per second, or 100 W/TH/s. The best modification of Antminer S15, released in 2018, consumed 57 W/TH/s. Currently, the most efficient Antminer S17 consumes only 40 W/TH/s.
https://preview.redd.it/gh343l3p09j41.png?width=930&format=png&auto=webp&s=e350c1e7832e37c1e3c3aeac974428cca7f0f874
It is assumed that the market competition compels manufacturers to keep up with each other in developing more efficient hardware. If some manufacturer brings next-generation chips to market, other manufacturers start to produce chips with the same characteristics at about the same time.
On the other hand, new miners are joining the network, thus increasing the hashrate. So the demand for electricity continues to grow. Also, it can be noticed later that the electricity consumption chart is similar to that of hashrate chart.
https://preview.redd.it/3k32ci6q09j41.png?width=930&format=png&auto=webp&s=e70f600419bcbc9e7e82506b5f12bf4da6f00584

Calculations

The incremental volume of electricity consumption is calculated by multiplying newly added hashrate by the best mining efficiency available at that moment.
The sum of incremental volumes represents cumulative amount of electricity consumed by bitcoin network. The metric is expressed in terawatt-hours (TWh). To get annualized volume in terawatt-hours we multiply the consumption by 24 hours and 365 days.
A 100-day moving average was applied to hashrate to make the final result less dependent on the short-term hashrate fluctuations.
Assumptions, used in this study, are very conservative. It means that the results are in the lower limit of the range of possible volumes, and the actual electricity consumption can be higher.
A detailed explanation and interactive charts are provided here: https://www.blockchainanalytics.pro/btc/electricity-consumption/
https://preview.redd.it/jol3703r09j41.png?width=929&format=png&auto=webp&s=252d4d67ff6882bb32ad63238537a41305719f05

Results

Currently, annualized electricity consumption in bitcoin network is 57 TWh. To help readers get an idea of how much electricity the bitcoin network consumes, a comparison with some countries is provided alongside.
Portugal consumes 49 TWh per year, Romania – 50 TWh, Czech Republic – 59 TWh.
Some more numbers for comparison:
https://preview.redd.it/hka7lcwr09j41.png?width=930&format=png&auto=webp&s=92d6d0b25f922a1e6f0c45c6f994e78aded6f920
According to conservative estimates, the bitcoin network will consume more than 70 TWh in 2020. This is on a par with Chile, a country with 18 million population.

More thoughts (estimations of how much energy banking industry consumes)

Some information from official reports:
Taking into account the information above, we can assume that, on average, banks spend ~20 kWh per customer per year.
Some information on world population:
  • 69% of adults around the world have a banking account (source)
  • 70% of the world population are adults (source)
  • World population is 7.7 billion (source)
Finally: 7.7 billion people * 70% * 69% * 20 kWh per year = ~74 TWh per year
So, we can assume, that banking industry consumes ~74 TWh per year

All websites have the above questionable information about their founders and companies interchanged throughout their sites. Goxtrade, a site claiming to be founded by Neil and almost a replica of their other exchange sites had staff listed that's details later proved to be falsified.
TechCrunch has confirmed the other photos on the site belong to other people seemingly chosen at random — including a claims specialist in Illinois, a lawyer in Germany and an operations manager in Melbourne.
In addition, TechCrunch found that Cloudflare, the hosting service for Goxtrade had flagged their site as a phishing site, an outcome that several of "Goxtrade"'s other sites later faced.

This next NANO bull run is going to leave many people heartbroken

Let me tell you people something. I've seen many of you depressed and sad during these past year and a half of slow and steady fall of many of the altcoins, including NANO. At the time of me writing this post, NANO is trading at 0.95$.
I'm going to tell you something that might wake you all up, and that is that this upcoming bull won't be easy. There will be many temptations for you people to flip your NANO once it starts to pump. The resistances are fairly simple to see 2$, 5$, 10$, 20$, 40$ and so on.
Many people will try to flip their NANO. Some will probably be successful: "Hey look, I just made easy 20% increase of my NANO stash, I do this all the time". But then, the price will not go down once they short and then they will find themselves coming back in NANO and have less NANO then they started with had they just held it through since the beginning.
They will exit at 2$, but will start buying back in once we go past 5$, some will sell here at 5$ but will start buying back once we break 10$. This will continue until 20$, and finally until 40$ when we break the ATH in terms of $, then, with no resistance in sight, the journey will continue to 100$. During this entire rise, exchanges like Kraken, Bittrex, Poloniex etc. will stop ignoring the listing of NANO as they will realize that they are missing big portion of money they could be making of its fees, which will just cause it to grow more and more.
This will sound ridiculous to some, but 100+$ per NANO is probably going to happen in the next 3 years or even sooner. Fundamentally there is no reason it doesn't happen and charts also confirm this. After 100$, who knows what can happen, another parabolic might take place again once adoption and marketing starts to be better and better and people start recognizing the quality off the coins. After we break 100$ only the sky is the limit.
Here is the chart I made that can illustrate how this growth might look in the short term future: https://charts.cointrader.pro/snapshot/TEqo3
This chart might be low-balling the growth considering how hard NANO could jump once people realize the fundamentals behind it. Let's do some math here also so that this chart and my story doesn't sound like it's based on nothing.
Current NANO market cap is 13.110 BTC , which is currently 134.577.264 $. Making NANO go 30x will still put it below price of Litecoin (LTC) during a BEAR market! Litecoin can't even be compared to NANO, not even fundamentally nor development wise. Making NANO go 100x will only place it slightly ahead of XRP also in a BEAR market, which also can't be compared to NANO. 100x jump probably won't be enough to pass LTC during bull market so this scenario is most definitely a possibility.
I'm going to repeat this again. This ride won't be easy people, but it sure as hell will be worth it for anyone who decides to hold through the ups and downs. I'm not saying you are stupid if you sell at profit and exit. Be my guest, take out your investment and leave the moonbag to go. But if you could've invested in BTC back in 2011, would you exit for a 2x-3x profit when deep inside you know it has high probability of going 100x+ and a potential of going 1000+x? Recognize the value of coin that you are holding.
I'm sure many of you have been asking yourself: "How is it possible that this coins has such a low market cap? It has instant transactions, ZERO fees and continuous development. This could be a total game changer, am I missing something?" No, you're not. Other whales that are accumulating are only making you think that you're missing something. This is how it feels like when you buy the bottom of the price. This is how it feels like when you KNOW something is undervalued, but it just stays there. This is EXACTLY how the true holders of the Bitcoin felt in December 2011 when Bitcoin crashed from 31$ to 2$.
I'm going to end this long rant with a famous quote:
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. - Mahatma Gandhi
TLDR;
Many will sell and exit for short term gain of 20%-100% and will miss out in the next bull run. NANO will reach 100+$. https://charts.cointrader.pro/snapshot/TEqo3

HUOBI EXCHANGE REVIEW

HUOBI EXCHANGE REVIEW
Huobi is a Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange. Founded in China, the company now has offices in Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and the United States. In August 2018 it became a publicly listed Hong Kong company.
Recently during early 2019, after crypto communities lost interest in ICOs (Initial Coin Offering) due to many unregistered STOs (Security Token Offering) and other projects whose aim was only to raise the funds. Exchanges adapted and gave a new dimension of the fund raising, IEO (Initial Exchange Offering).
In this regard, exchanges helped the projects by providing them a platform to raise the funds and also helped the retail investors by doing due diligence on the project on behalf of the investors. Best part of this process is, such issued tokens are listed on the same platform and exchanges helped these start ups in the process. This gave a sense of security and helped to maintain integrity with the projects and public investors.
All the top tier exchanges are participating in this movement and named such fund raising as Launchpad, Jumpstart, Spotlight, Startup etc. While Huobi came up with Huobi Prime.
Unlike other exchanges, Huobi Prime has helped varieties of start-ups.
  • It all started with a DAG based blockchain platform, Top Network.
  • A project named after the greatest scientist who made a major impact on the human lives, Newton Project. It is aimed to deliver an infrastructure for the community economy.
  • It is followed by Thunder Core. A blockchain project dreamt of decentralized future and allows anyone to build dApps on their platform.
  • Then Reserve Rights continued the legacy. It’s a protocol for stable currencies with three kinds of tokens RSV, RSR and collateral tokens.
  • Akropolis - a protocol to explore the informal economy and help the people with DeFi. It was one of it’s kind which was competitive enough to seek the help from the Huobi.
  • Later a social digital currency, Emogi secured a place to be the next Prime project.
  • Recently, Whole Network - A consensus, co-creation, and win-win behavioral value network had the opportunity to feature as a 7th Prime project.
However, each of the Prime project is different from the other in the list. One must admit, it is a basket with mixed fruits. From DAG to Currency to dApp platform to stable coin protocol to DeFi protocol to digital currency to blockchain phone. Huobi has covered a rich list of projects in this journey.

(This chart presents the information based on the price of the each token on 2nd October. However it may vary marginally as price of the cryptocurrencies are volatile in nature)
Trading Options
Many centralized exchanges serve as the sole, centralized market maker. In contrast, Huobi also allows you to trade over the counter (OTC). This means that you can buy and sell cryptocurrencies peer-to-peer on Huobi. Even though this option exists on the exchange, it has yet to gain adoption from traders. Various commenters have said that there is a lack of OTC offers. Still, this is still an innovative technical feature.

If you are a margin trader, Houbi has a separate platform specifically for this. You can access this by going to the margin tab in the header. The amount of leverage you can have varies from coin-to-coin. For example, BTC is around 3x. Compared to other margin trading platforms, this is low. Nonetheless, it is an attractive option for potential users.

In December 2018, Huobi Derivative Market issued BTC contracts and ETH contracts (including weekly, bi-weekly and quarterly, respectively), and flexible leverages, including 1x, 5x, 10x and 20x. In the future, more digital currencies will be issued to meet various investment demands.
Meaning “currency” in Mandarin Chinese, Huobi consistently ranks as one of the world’s top ten largest exchanges by trade volume. In this article, we look at everything you need to know as a potential Huobi user. Let’s examine fees, fund security, customer experience and more.

User Interface and Mobile App

Available on iOS and Android, the Huobi mobile app features most of the functionalities available on the web platform. You can even complete tasks like account registration and verification directly via the app. In Google Play, the Huobi Global app has an average rating of 4.1 stars out of 3,730 reviews. However, in December 2018 and January 2019, some users have said that the Android app won’t let them login due to an error with Captcha. On the Apple App Store, Huobi boasts an average rating of 4.9 stars out of over 4,800 reviews.

Huobi offers a margin trading option.

Security

Compared to other exchanges, Huobi continues to excel from a security perspective. Many top exchanges suffer from large-scale hacks, with varying results in terms of trading volume afterward. In 2015, a Bitstamp hacker withdrew 12,000 BTC from Huobi. However, this issue did not relate to the security of Huobi. Huobi reported a DDOS attack in 2015 but this did not cause a security breach. According to one review, an individual user lost USDT and EOS on Huobi. This reviewer states that the problem was caused by a technical error with Huobi’s 2FA. One comment suggests that it was the result of a phishing scam.

Huobi claims that its risk controls have been developed by the likes of Goldman Sachs. The exchange stores around 98 percent of funds in cold wallets. Moreover, Huobi now utilizes a decentralized exchange structure to prevent DDOS attacks. The exchange even has a User Protection Fund Initiative. Twenty percent of net revenue that the exchanges gains from trades will go to this fund, which it will use to buy back Huobi Token (HT). It also has a service called Huobi Security Reserve. As part of this, the exchange plans to store 20,000 BTC for insurance. This is a preventative measure that will help Huobi reimburse users in the case of any future hacks.

Huobi Fees

Huobi has a 0.2 percent fee that applies to both market makers and takers for amounts between $0 and $5,000,000 over the course of a 30-day period. In comparison, other top exchanges like Binance have 0.1 percent fees. Meanwhile, GDAX has 0.3 percent fees.

In January 2019, Huobi Global launched a tiered fee structure that significantly reduces fees for higher volume traders. This is relatively competitive when compared to other exchanges. Users also have the option to reduce trading fees on Huobi by becoming a VIP member. This involves paying a monthly payment of HT, which varies depending on the membership level (1-5).

Like most exchanges Huobi has no fees on deposits. However, Huobi does have withdrawal fees and minimums that vary from coin-to-coin. For example, withdrawing Bitcoin (BTC) costs 0.001 BTC, with a minimum withdrawal amount of 0.01 BTC. For Tether (USDT), the flat fee is 5 USDT and minimum withdrawal amount is 20 USDT. Overall, this means that Huobi fees are generally higher than most exchanges for lower withdrawal amounts. A few exceptions exist. For example, TUSD has a withdrawal minimum of $20 but a withdrawal fee of only $2.

Withdrawal Limitations

Similar to many exchanges on the market, Huobi has withdrawal limitations based on various levels of user verification. One thing you will notice is that withdrawal amounts vary greatly depending on your citizenship. For example, if you are a citizen of China, you can’t withdraw any funds as an unverified user or with level 1 verification. This option is only available at level 2 or above. In the United States, the exchange only requires level 1 verification. However, the amounts are relatively low: a daily limit of $2,000 and a monthly limit of $10,000.

Customer Service Experience

Compared to most exchanges, Huobi has above average customer service experience. Customer support is available 24/7, and response times only take two to three hours on average. Many consider this to be a rarity in the space.

There are two main methods that you can use to reach customer support. First, you can utilize the chat app that is available directly on the Huobi trading platform. Second, you can contact the team at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). If you choose this option, Huobi asks that you use the registered email address associated with your Huobi account and include your user ID.

HUOBI EXCHANGE REVIEW

ABOUT HUOBI :
Huobi is a cryptocurrency exchange founded in China in 2013. Currently, Huobi is based in Singapore because this country has friendlier cryptocurrency regulations. The company is registered in Seychelles. Before leaving China due to a cryptocurrency ban, the exchange was responsible for 90% of Bitcoin trading volume in this country. Now Huobi is an international platform with offices located in Singapore, Hong Kong, the United States, Japan, and Korea. In China, the company provides blockchain consulting services. Huobi has sub-exchanges: Huobi Korea, Huobi US, etc. Huobi Global is the biggest Huobi exchange. In November 2019 Huobi Global had to shut down all the accounts belonging to the US customers due to strict cryptocurrency regulations of the USA. This exchange is one of the top 50 cryptocurrency exchanges by trade volume. On the Coingecko chart of exchanges, Huobi Global occupies the third position. The exchange has more than 500 markets and supports over 220 cryptocurrencies. As Huobi provides an option to buy cryptocurrency with fiat money, this exchange is a gateway for people who enter the cryptocurrency world .

FEATURES :
Huobi Global has a really wide range of functions. First off, this exchange provides an opportunity to buy cryptocurrencies with fiat money using a credit card and other payment means. This option is delivered in the over-the-counter trading section (OTC). There is a menu line in the upper part of the website. It begins with "But Crypto". That's where one can see the OTC offerings provided by Huobi. One can buy or sell the following currencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Tether (USDT), EOS, XRP, Litecoin (LTC), Huobi Token (HT), Huobi stablecoin (HUSD), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Please note, that there are not so many offerings especially for certain currencies. Normally there are many options for buying BTC or USDT. The prices and payment methods vary from one trader to another. You can pay with a credit card, some traders accept payments via Western Union, AliPay, and other services.
There is a cryptocurrency exchange with hundreds of crypto-to-crypto pairs. The exchange supports market, limit and stop-limit orders. It gives traders some control over the situation and helps to secure the assets from trading in loss to some extent. In general, the exchange interface of Huobi is quite generic.
Those who have experience of trading on several other exchanges will find the interface familiar. It has a trading view with a candlestick chart on the left and the list of orders updating in real-time on the right. Under the charts, there is an order history. Under the list of market trades, there is a section where users can place orders. The candlestick chart is powered with numerous analysis tools and indicators.
What makes Huobi Global more attractive for traders is the support of margin trading. In all margin trading pairs the currencies are traded against Tether (USDT). There are 6 cryptocurrencies that can be traded with x3 leverage: Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), XRP, Ether (ETH), and EOS.
Huobi Global is aimed to provide service both to small investors and institutional traders. That's the reason why the platform offers institutional accounts with special opportunities for corporate customers. Among these features, there are colocation options and other tools that provide the opportunity of seamless high-frequency trading. Additionally, institutional accounts can get special OTC loans.
One more feature is trading derivatives. Huobi provides two separate interfaces for that purpose: Swap trading and Futures trading platforms on Huobi DM. Moreover, it is possible to participate in IEO trading via the Huobi exchange. This feature requires the use of the Huobi Token.

ASSETS AND INSTRUMENTS:
As mentioned, there are two types of instruments that you can trade on the Huobi derivatives platform. These are your traditional futures as well as the perpetual swaps or futures.
With these instruments, you are trading crypto on margin. This means that they are leveraged and your exposure is often many multiples of the amount that you have put down as collateral.
Now that we have a brief understanding of leverage, let’s take a look at the instruments on offer at the Huobi exchange.
Futures are instruments that allow the holder to buy or sell some asset in the future. Essentially, you are trading some future price of the instrument on the chose delivery date. In terms of expiry dates, they have weekly, bi-weekly and Quarterly which settle every Friday. In terms of expiry dates, they have weekly, bi-weekly and Quarterly which settle every Friday. When it comes to the specifics of the contract, they differ according to which asset is being traded. You should also take a look into the contract specifics in the Huobi docs. This includes such information as the index reference for the prices as well as your last trading price. The latter can only be done up till 10 minutes before the expiry.
Perpetual swaps are leveraged instruments that do not have have a delivery date. They are marked to market everyday and settle 3 times a day. They are sometimes also called “perpetual futures” at other exchanges.
The reason that they are called “Swaps” at Huobi Derivatives is because you are swapping the returns of one asset for the returns of another. Here, you are swapping crypto returns for returns on the US dollar.
At Huobi DM, the Perpetual swaps have leverage up to 125x and they are written on 5 different assets. These are Bitcoin and Ethereum with other coins to be added soon.

HUOBI APPS:
Huobi mobile app for iOS and Android are available. Similarly, the Huobi mobile app features most of the functionalities available on the web platform also.

API :
For those of you who are programmers, you will be happy to learn that Huobi global API can be used on the Futures and Swap markets.
There is both a websocket as well as a REST version available. It is suggested that you use the REST for one off operation to trade and withdraw. You should use the websocket for market data & order updates. You should also note that you can be a market maker on through the API.
If you want to start using the API then you will to get yourself an API key. This can easily be done in the API management of your account dashboard. Here you can select whether you would like it to be a read-only, Withdraw or Trade. You can also bind an IP address to this API so you can ensure than no other person will use your account even if compromised.

HUOBI FEES :
Huobi has a 0.2 % fee that applies to both market makers and takers for amounts between $0 and $5,000,000 over the course of a 30-day period. In comparison, other top exchanges like Binance have 0.1 percent fees. Actually, it has a fair trading fees structure and easy to remember also. Meanwhile, GDAX has 0.3 percent fees.
In January 2019, Huobi Global launched a tiered fee structure that significantly reduces fees for higher-volume traders. This is relatively competitive when compared to other exchanges. Users also have the option to reduce trading fees on Huobi by becoming a VIP member. This involves paying a monthly payment of HT, which varies depending on the membership level (1-5).
Like most exchanges, Huobi has no fees on deposits. However, Huobi does have withdrawal fees minimums that vary from coin-to-coin. For example, withdrawing Bitcoin (BTC) costs 0.001 BTC, with a minimum withdrawal amount of 0.01 BTC. For Tether (USDT), the flat fee is 5 USDT. And the minimum withdrawal amount is 20 USDT. Overall, the meaning- Huobi fees are generally higher than most exchanges for lower withdrawal amounts. A few exceptions exist. For example, TUSD has a withdrawal minimum of $20 but a withdrawal fee of only $2.

IS IT TRUSTWORTHY?
In contrast to other exchanges, Huobi receives a favorable score. First of all, it is incorporated and operated from Singapore. As we all know crypto regulations are advanced there. And promote blockchain startups always. Second, Huobi does provide users with multiple ways to safeguard their accounts. Although it is not enough. Essentially, 2-factor authentication is available using both SMS and authenticator apps. The platform does not require any special confirmation if the account is logged into from an unfamiliar IP address or location. There is no option to whitelist addresses for asset withdrawal, allowing funds to be sent to any address input. Furthermore, Huobi was never hacked. Even though they do present a lucrative target for attackers. Meaning, Huobi has adopted a decentralized exchange structure, which helps to resist DDOS attacks. And we believe the exchange takes these threats seriously and does everything in their power to protect the exchange from hackers. Also, Huobi does store user funds in cold storage to restrict access to them. Actually, the exchange stores around 98 percent of funds in cold wallets.

SUPPORT :
Something else that is crucial to the entire trading experience is the level of support that the exchange provides. There is nothing more frustrating than having to wait hours for response from support.
When it comes to Huobi, there are actually quite a few options to reach their customer support. Perhaps the quickest and most effective way is through their live chat function. Firstly, they will try to help you with the available resources. If that does not work then you can reach out to a live agent.

CONCLUSION:
So, in summary. We really liked the Huobi futures products. It is not only highly functional but is also secure and leverags the expertise that the team have at the main Huobi exchange.
For the futures instruments, there is a decent range of assets and leverage. Markets are also pretty liquid and these are all traded on a simplistic yet technically able trading platform. It’s also great that you can trade on PC programs and mobile apps as well.
When it comes to security, they have taken all of the same precautions that are used on the main exchange. Their 20,000 BTC strong insurance fund keeps them well protected and they have not had a single clawback of trader funds since their inception.
Yes, there are areas for improvement but the exchanges is still evolving and building out functionality. One can only hope that they take trader suggestions into account.
So then, is it worth considering?
Well, if you are looking for a highly functional and secure futures exchange that is backed by one of the biggest names in the business, then it is well worth a try.

Why Are Crypto Trading Bots So Popular?

Hype. Your crypto-friends are excited: “I spend one hour per day just setting up my bot!” “It’s easy money, bro!” According to our research, 126 out of 209 traders use crypto bots for trading. 📷 But it’s not only about users - you can find a lot of different unknown crypto bots on the Internet. According to here are 70 bots with open source, so let’s imagine how many of them are in general! But what is special about them? Why are they so popular? Let’s see. 📷 You know, when you trade just with the help of signals and exchange, you spend a lot of time. But with top trading bots crypto trading is simple - you need just to give them all the details of a deal. They are like washing machines! 📷 People are not bots. You can’t trade 24/7 every day. But the best crypto bot can! 📷 Of course, it is not about every crypto bot. 📷 You know that situation when you see that that coin is decreasing in value. You start to think: “Oh no, I need to sell it right now. Otherwise I will lose everything I have invested.” Emotions. And cryptocurrency trading bots don't think like that because they are machines! It will use only setted parameters.

How profitable are best crypto trading bots?

Bots are just like soldiers that fight on your behalf 24/7, giving you an advantage of time, volume and price. On the other hand, you should take full responsibility for everything your bots do on the crypto battlefields. They never give you a 100% guarantee of an extra income, unless these are scam bots. Basically, this is just a software that helps you implement your own strategies, knowledge and trading experience.

Advantages

Every time you want to try a new thing, you want to know about it’s advantages and disadvantages. Is trade bot worth the money? Let’s check. 📷 Every person needs to eat, to sleep, to take a small break for tea or coffee, to spend some time with the family. But it’s not about bots. People sometimes want to avoid risks, but bots - don’t. Robots make all the steps while trading faster. 📷 Are you able to track the price of every existing coin? Nah… Cryptocurrency trading bots can analyze monster-size information! 📷 Again, emotions. Bots for cryptocurrency only listen to humans, their strategies and replicate their intelligence. No pressure. No fear. Simple! 📷 A person can miscalculate parameters or analyze charts or strategies without attention. This leads to huge losses. Bots, as machines, are much more accurate.

Disadvantages

You should think about every scenario before trading with crypto bot. Not all the bots are good and legit. Remember, that not every auto crypto bot is a scam! It just means that it’s going to contain some developer errors etc. So what is gonna happen if you choose a bad trade bot? 📷Now you know that bots for cryptocurrency are made with the help of humans. So they can contain developer errors. Setting up a bot is a very complicated process, so mistakes can be anywhere - even at the best crypto bot. And the result of such mistakes will definitely lead to trader’s losses. 📷 One of the main drawbacks of trading with a crypto trading bot is how often transactions are carried out. So, commissions for opening or closing positions can exceed the amount of your revenue. Of course, if you choose a good and professional bot, those parameters should be adjusted. 📷 Oooh, what a nightmare! Yes, unfortunately, there are a lot of scam cryptocurrency Binance trading bots. How to distinguish a scam bot among all of them? We are going to talk about this a bit later.

Is It Possible To Earn Money With The Help Of Crypto Trading Bot?

📷Did some tell you that you will definitely earn something while trading with a bot? Don’t believe it! Why? The reasons are quite simple. As we already pointed out in pros & cons - robots are machines only. But some of the bots for cryptocurrency can show you their accuracy. They provide you results and losses they have made. The best and safest if we talk about trading with a bot is using a complex - cryptocurrency trading bot and a crypto provider - a professional trader which provides profitable crypto signals. At Safetrading you can find such providers.

Do Bots Scam People?

📷 Hell yeah! Scam crypto trading bots are made only to steal users’ funds. Pim from shared his opinion about crypto trading bots in general and gave some advice how not to be scammed by a trading bot: 📷 Imagine: Unprofessional users get a subscription and give the bot full access to their investments. If you don’t know how to choose the best crypto bot among all the existing ones and decide to trade with doubtful bot... Your assets are going to be stolen. Crypto Robot 365. Bitcoin Loophole. Bitcoin Code. Crypto Edge. BTC Robot. Bitcoin Trader. Bitcoin Revolution. The accuracy and profitability of those bots are doubtful. But they are not the only ones, unfortunately.

What Should You Remember Before Trading?

I promised you some tips on how not to lose everything you invested. But I’m gonna give you more! Are you ready for tips which will help you to gain profit while trading? 📷 Please, keep it in a safe place. Don’t make a screenshot, don’t put it in “Notes”. Store it offline and your assets will be safe. 📷 Remember we were talking about scam crypto bots? So… You should be the only creature in this world who can withdraw the assets. 📷 Even the best crypto bot can lose money, because the cryptocurrency market sometimes is very unpredictable. To be sure you are not going to lose all the money you have on your account, use stop loss. But don’t be scared. It’s okay to make mistakes - even for a bot. 📷 Bull market. Bear market. The strategies are different for different markets, so switch your strategy every time the market changes. 📷 To set your bot you need to understand what you are doing. If you don’t know how to use crypto trading bot, it will be very hard to control it and to gain profit. 📷 Don’t forget that you pay fees for every trading (not with every bot, but still). So you should make enough profit to cover your fees. 📷 This is the best decision! Just find a good and trusted crypto provider and use his signals to trade with bot. 📷 Don’t do something if you don’t know what it is for. Write to the support or google your question. 📷 Don’t waste your time and money trying to trade with unknown bots.

Conclusion

Starting to trade with a crypto trading bot you should remember, that it still needs you and the parameters you give it to trade. “Hey, use my crypto bot and earn $1000 in a first day of trading!” Don’t believe it. Everything successful needs some time, effort and patience. Do trading bots really work? It is definitely possible to earn with crypto trading bots. They will save you a lot of time! But if you are a newcomer, take your time, read a lot of articles and start to trade slowly. And you will be a successful trader!

Potential BTC value on today's buying power (math experiment)

Today, i want to do a little math to calculate where we are in the crypto space (based on bitcoin).

There are 43 million wallets.
Source: https://www.blockchain.com/charts/my-wallet-n-users?timespan=all

Some people will have multiple wallets, but on the other side, some people will have no own wallet (*).
(*) coins on exchange combi wallets.

Coinbase has 30 million users (maybe a few more now).
Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/coinbase-added-8-million-new-users-in-the-past-year

Binance has round about 14 million users (maybe a few more now).
Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFjE-KYbXU8 (start at minute 25)

Many users use multiple exchanges! I did not found any exchange with more than 30 million users.
( if you know one, please tell us and include a source link )

On the world live now 7,75 billion people!
Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weltbev%C3%B6lkerung (german)

35% of the people are older than 64 years or younger than 15 years.
Source: https://de.statista.com/statistik/daten/studie/71063/umfrage/weltbevoelkerung-nach-alter-und-regionen/ (german)

This leads to 65% potential users, which would be at round about 5 billion people.
Now we must accept, no system will be used by "all" potential people...
Let´s calc only with 20% of the 65% potential of all the people on planet earth!

Now we get a good round 1 billion!
Now we just say, each wallet is one single user (as i said many users own multiple wallets, many users own none wallet).

( based on this calculation )
___43,000,000 BTC users exists today!
1,000,000,000 BTC users are possible in the future!

After all BTC are mined, each BTC user could own only 0.021 BTC (average)

Today's wealth average per person is at (independent from who you live, just world average!)
70,849 USD ... but only 7,087 USD (median) ... so, let´s use the lower value.
Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_L%C3%A4nder_nach_Verm%C3%B6gen_pro_Kopf (german)

If 0.021 BTC represents 7,087 USD...
This leads us to a potential BTC value of
337,476 USD (at todays buying power)
3 million, if we use the average wealth and not the median but no person would put all there wealth in bitcoin, so the median value should be better for this calculation.

This doesn't mean prices like 1 million / BTC is not possible.
It is! And based on todays buying power, not only through inflation.
Why?
We will see more bubble phases, which get BTC to absurd values!

The point is - even if BTC "only" reach roundabout 340,000 USD at today's buying power, this is huge!
So go on and stack sats - but this is not a financial advice - only my thoughts

Please share your opinion and thanks for your attention.

The 8 Skills to Be a Good Miner

Many people may feel quite confused about their low profit now. Maybe you forget to think about the small details when you are mining. Small little details will make big difference in your final income.
Now, i want to share you the 8 skills to improve your benefits.
1, Get a cheaper power
Everyone knows the power is the most charge in mining, if we can find a cheaper electricity, it will be good. So, how to get a cheaper electricity?
55% of the mining is in China, and 40% of the mining is in Sichuan China. Why? Because there are many hydroelectric power station in there. So, you can find a place near the station and get a cheaper electricity from them.
If you can find free electricity, it is the best anyway
2, Choose low w/t machine
As you know, low comsuption machine is very popular those days, like S17 pro 53t, T17 42t. They are 7nm technical, the w/t is low and it can even overclock, it maybe a good choice. Also, we need to consider the price of machine.
Cheap price machine means fast ROI, But low W/T machine has a bright future.
3, Buy miner when BTC begin to raise after long drop
When BTC price keep falling, of course the machine will be cheaper and cheaper. When the BTC price begin to raise, we can buy miner at that time, because the price is the cheapset and you can earn money back soon.
Normally at that time, the good machine will be sold out quickly, when the market feedback that those machine are good, you may be late to get the chance. So, make your plan for purchasing before, when price down, get them.
4, Do not forget BCH, BSV, ZEN coin
Do remember SHA-256 Algorithm can mining BCH and BSV as well. Sometimes those coin may get even a better profits than BTC.
Some miner has auto setting for BTC, but you can choose BSV and BCH mining if you set it,
5, Notice the half reward period information
Because the half reward time is coming in 2020, there will be a chance or a risk for it. Many low hashrate machine may be out of the style and high hashrate will be more competitive.
Low your risk and not to buy those cheap machine now
6, Choose a good future crypto currency
There are many coins in this field now, we need to analyse and find a better direction for mining. Like Z11, many people use it for ZEN mining nowadays, and their benefits is top now.
Also, people buy many S17, it can earn money back before next year half reward time. And they believe the BTC price will increase creazily as last two times.
7, Make plan for your selling of coin or machine
As you know, the price of the BTC changes everytime, we can mining the BTC first and keep it in hand, do not sell it every day. It is very stupid. Just sell it when price high, you do not need to take any risk if you do not buy BTC directy. We do not need to care about the low price situation, we only need to wait. When chance come, get it.
Same for machine
8. Don't be fooled by the mining calculator
Many sites calculate mining profits based on hardware and electricity prices. If you've never mined before, you might be happy to see the numbers provided by these websites and calculators and think, "I'll make a fortune!"
However, these websites don't tell you: in addition to the cost of electricity, there may be other current costs, such as maintenance, cooling, rent, labor, etc. Generally, the hash rate and power consumption of the device are slightly different from what the factory says.
This difference is more common in unpopular brands. You can better understand the actual hash rate and the actual power consumption by watching the miner test video on YouTube. In addition, depending on the distance from the meter to the device and the type of cable used, the power loss from the meter to the device can be as high as 200 watts.
In addition to the cost of mining machines, some initial costs are required to prepare the infrastructure, such as cooling and venting, cabling and distribution, shelves, network and monitoring equipment, safety measures, etc.
The network difficulty is constantly changing and increasing at a significant speed, which directly affects the mining revenue. You can check the bitcoin network difficulty chart to see its growth rate, but your miner will not always be 100% active.
Due to maintenance, network problems, ore pool problems, power problems and many other problems, the miner may be offline for several hours. I suggest that you consider setting the normal operation time of the miner to less than 97% when calculating. We have rich mining experience in professional ore pools, and the normal operation time of these mining machines will not exceed 97-98%.
Thats all, hope those information will help you become a good mining investor.

My expiriences with crypto exchange Kraken.

So when learning about trading it is logical that first several years will yield more losses than profits. So far so that most traders suggest that your starting portfolio shouldn't be larger what you are willing to throw away.
So in September I joined Kraken, with ~100 EUR in LTC/BTC currency. And of course I lost 30 % in first week due to me getting accustomed with GUI , charts, SMA/EMAand etc while learning about analysis and losing in value to falling market.
Then drop of 8500-7500 happened in second week of September, and I accidentally shortened the BTC. Which was lucky but I contacted support team to explain to me what I have done. They were (generally are) polite and pointed me to the webinar that was supposed to be held on 6th November.
I closed the short position on 8th of October (classic FOMO) , got long and canceled that on October 10-11. So far I was up 5 EUR and down 3 (long was on higher leverage). So I shortened it again and waited. On 18th October I have just learned about stop-loss and take-profit and I placed it on 10 EUR above current price at the time.
Now you might hear ominous bells in the background as we approach the 25-th and 26-st October. So on that fated day, price busted trough my stop loss and locked me out of making any trade. I was in hell (figuratively) watching how I was loosing 20+ EUR not being able to do anything.
Once dust has settled and I have cut my losses (on 27-nth) , I decided to contact support team again to notify them that I was locked out of trading in order for them to fix any issues they might've been experiencing. They were nice and pleasant, and told me next time that happens to refresh my browser, clear my cookies, click sync bunch of times, log off and on, refresh tab on my browser, exit my browser and restart it again and restart my computer. And then kind people from support team (they were changing every 15 minutes, while I had to explain everything from the start) made me an technical support ticket and sent them to their trading support team[tsm].
There came 28th October, and I started new long position since I was under false influence that China or whatever will bounce bitcoin back to 10 K. I was mostly driven by replenishing the loses (at least 20 EUR one ) - NEVER TRADE ON EMOTION... this was my big mistake.
Then on 29th October, the lock down happened again. And after doing all steps they listed earlier - with no change whatsoever - I contacted the support team once again. They repeated the steps I have already done, and generated new ticket to trading support team. when I asked them what is the status of my previous ticket - they have told me that someone will get in touch with me soon.
My next mistake was trying to rustle with the market instead of waiting for response of tsm. I went down to 35 EUR till end of the October.
The webinar wasn't held, and response I got was to try "refresh my browser, clear my cookies, click sync bunch of times, log off and on, refresh tab on my browser, exit my browser and restart it again and restart my computer." and let them know if it doesn't start in half of an hour. It didn't, they apologized... no harm no foul. Soon after that (couple of days) John from tsm contacted me telling me I need to give him screen shot next time that happens, and on 3rd November it happened again. So I made screenshot and cropped the picture to show the issue and sent it to him. Keith replied next day that telling me that he needs it timestamped (although they have access to my ledger and every picture has binary date time block in their binary code ) , on which I told him that each picture is timestamped in binary. And if that happened again could I be refunded, and if I couldn't be refunded I would then write an review , forward all data to California state or ask for an refund.
Next two days no response. Then It happened again, I made screen shots of my phone (with date and time clearly visible) and asked him what is his response on refund part. And Maximus responed me with
I have gone to our dev's regarding your Rate Limitation Error. Every action taken on Kraken Pro (adding/closing/cancelling orders + retrieve balance (Sync)) is hitting the API. If too many actions are taken in a short period of time and you’ll receive this error and be temporarily locked out until you recover “points or allowance”.
I'm sorry for your frustration. Our Kraken Interface at kraken.com might be more suitable to your style of trading.
Then I asked again about refunds, and person who introduced himself as Kevin(later signed as Maximus) told me :
Kraken does not take the other side of your trade ans as such does not refund or reimburse for trades.
I copied whole ledger, and tried to withdraw my funds (with no luck ) and tried to trade in order to increase my funds so I can withdraw them and leave the hell hole that is their platform. And to no ones surprise I have lost 10 EUR till then. And interface on kraken.com that didn't help at all. Timed bid executed immediately on market price (instead of limit) with taker fees, stop losses executed randomly ... and etc.
Then I was locked out again, my short position order was filled, but my position held 0.00065 btc instead of 0.013 btc, I contacted the support yet again , where after Andrew replaced Maxima an phantom order (which I didn't fill) canceling the difference of 0.01235 btc appeared before my eyes. Andrew tried to submit new ticket to technical suport team, and when I asked him for their names... Andrew refused to tell me, mentioning that I have been in contact with them (Maximus, John, Kevin, Keith .... and of course Kevin Maximus). On which I finally saw where this was going, persuaded Andrew to withdraw my funds and left the fucking website.
If you are using Kraken, don't. I was extremely stupid hanging on trough all that stuff. Leave it and go to another. Americans especially, after some data analysis the API calls jump 2 hours before American time zones, and diminish 10 hours later.

/r/ethtrader quickstart guide - Acronyms, Jargon, and Personalities.

Hi there new ETH investor and/or new /ethtrader community member! Glad to have you aboard. We are a pretty lively bunch around here; inside jokes, memes, and jargon run rampant.

I figured I would create a sort of glossary to help you figure out what the actual fuck we are talking about.

Acronyms (thanks decronym)

BGD: Big green dildo, as in a big green candlestick on the price chart.

BTFD: Buy the fucking dip.

ATH: All time high, the highest price of a thing ever, 1400ish for ETH.

FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out, the urge to jump on the bandwagon when prices rise.

DeFi: Decentralized Finance, MakerDAO and Dharma and stuff. Loans basically.

CDP: Collateralized debt position. A DeFi thing.

FUD: FeaUncertainty/Doubt, negative sentiments spread in order to drive down prices.

MEW: My Ether Wallet, a website to make and interact with wallets.

TA: Technical analysis, predicting the future of the price based on the past.

2FA: 2 factor authentication, its a security thing, a second password of sorts.

ERC20: The standard for tokens built on ETH.

POS: Not piece of shit, or point of sale. Proof of stake, the new consensus mechanism coming to ETH soon™.

ICO: Initial coin offering, the birth of a new crypto, usually an ERC20. Like an IPO.

IEO: Initial exchange offering, like an ICO, but typically a bit more scammy.

EZPZ: e_z_p_z_, more on him later...

BAT: Not the animal, Basic Attention Token

OMG: Not oh my god, well sometimes oh my god, but mostly OmiseGo. Pronounced OH-ME-SAY GO btw.

MKR: MakerDAO.

REP: There is too many tokens to list here, just google it you will figure it out.

DYOR: Do your own research. People want to steal your money. Make sure you know what you are buying.

LN: A silly bitcoin thing.

GDAX: The old name for Coinbase Pro.

Jargon

Bull: Confident the price will go up.

Confidant: misspelling of confident from e_z_p_z_. More on him later...

Bear: Confident the price will go down.

Cuecomber: Cucumber, another EZPZ classic. Can be used as in cool as a cucumber, or as in BGD (see? now you know what BGD means, damn this guide is helpful.)

The ratio: The trading pair ETH:BTC.

The flippening: The ETH marketcap being bigger than the BTC marketcap. Coming soon™ .

Soon™: The release date for everything crypto related.

Donuts: Like reddit karma but /ethtrader specific, and infinitely more valuable. Legend has it that if you get 10 million donuts Vitalik sends you 10 ETH for every 1 ETH you send him. The name comes from cyounessi's post here.

Moon: The price where you can buy a lambo.

Mooning: The price increasing rapidly. Maybe exposed butts depending on how you choose to spend your money.

Moonboy: A hopelessly optimistic/greedy person.

$13: The price was stuck here for a long time. Dark days for /ethtrader.

$420: The top of the bull market before last. Also weed dude hehehe.

$300: The price was stuck here for what seemed like forever. Oh how easy we had it back then...

$324: EZPZ's number. More on him later...

$80: The bottom of the previous bear market. We will definitely never see this price again.

HODL: Hold. From here.

SODL: Sold, same as above.

BUIDL: Build, you get the pattern.

Golden cross: Moving averages of prices crossing. A TA thing.

FIAT: Not the car. Fiat Money. USD, euros, pounds and so on.

Sharding: An ETH scaling method. Don't make sharting jokes, they anger Vitalik.

Ramen: The meal of choice when the price goes down.

Pamp: Pump

Bogdanoff: This. Just... Don't ask...

Weeks not months: In reference to Joe Lubin's prediction for ETH futures coming out. It has been 75 weeks since he said this.

The Winklevii: Founders of Gemini Exchange, the facebook guys.

Updoot the diddly: Or anything with that vague collection of letters, Upvote the daily discussion.

JT's fire pit: jtnichol posts pictures of food he is cooking in his backyard fire pit. Those posts make you hungry.

The DAO: Tumultuous times in ethereum history to say the least.Further reading here.)

Personalities

vbuterin: The founder of Ethereum. We really really like him.

Joe Lubin: Co-founder of Ethereum, founder of ConsenSys. Memes aside. We like him.

carlslarson: Creator of /ethtrader. Overall good guy.

jtnichol: A mod of /ethtrader. Overall sweetheart.

The rest of the mods: Too many to list. It's a great group of people. They won't give you any trouble if you aren't being a dick.

dcinvestor: DC is a smart guy with good opinions. We really like him.

E_Z_P_Z_ the undisputed meme champion. A genuine crazy person. Made a bad sell on the way up, and wrote lengthy posts about how ETH was going back to $324 multiple times a day for months, often times with terrible spelling and grammar. When ETH did hit 324 he became something like a local hero. He is the heel of /ethtrader and we all love to hate him.

lamboshinakaghini: A fool, not to be trusted.

scienceguy9489: He used to regularly post TA. Sometimes he was right, sometimes he was wrong. The crucial thing was that he was memeable. He started to get a bit of an ego going, and was deleting his posts that were wrong, and keeping the correct ones. He recently made a return to /ethtrader and made a post that ETH was going to moon on a certain day and it ended up not being correct, which was just fuel on the meme fire. He goes by etherdamus now and runs a private TA group which has a fee to join.

singlestateserenity: He posts a haiku in the daily every day until we flippen bitcoin. Reading a nice haiku is a pleasant way to start your morning.

Everyone else: Well you will see them around and catch the vibe. There are just too many lovable and hateable people to list.
