HowTo: Create and Spend a Electrum Segwit 3of3 Multisig wallet with Trezors

I wrote a simlar post in Bitcoin about creating a MS wallet without a Trezor, this guide will focus on creating a 3of3 MS wallet with three Trezor's. Hopefully it should be obvious how to extend this to N-of-M for any value of N or M. You can also use this as a blueprint to do MS with non-HW Electrum wallets like Android.
It should be noted that this is the most general case method for setting this up. This allows to replace non-HW Electrum wallets into this procedure where HW-wallets are referenced. For the far simpler method, just pick Cosign with hardware device instead of Cosign with key as I outline here. If you choose Cosign with HW you can do the entire process in one wallet file in one session.
The main advantage of multisig is that it reduces the risk of one compromised seed exposing all your funds. Although this is exceedingly complicated, the added layer of complications make it all the more difficult to compromise your funds. Most of the complexity is on the initial wallet setup. Sending is only a bit more complicated, and Receiving is the same as it would be for any electrum wallet.
We will be creating three wallets here, and each will use a Trezor with its own seed, passphrase, and public key (Zpub). If your just wanting to play with this process you could use one Trezor with three different passphrases. Electrum will treat this like three different wallets, since... well since it is. The Zpubs will be calculated by Electrum.
For all references to wallet passphrases or encryption passwords, I highly recommend you generate six-word passphrases. Three simple ways to construct a six-word passphrase would be to either use EFF diceware long wordlist to roll for 6 words, or create a short six-word BIP39 seed and use that as a passphrase, or create a random Electrum seed and use the last 6 words. You will need to take care that all six-word passphrases are equal or less than 50 characters. Longer passphrases can produce some unexpected results. Whenever you need to create a passphrase or password from here on out, create a six-word string as described above.
Assuming your have your Trezors initialized with passphrases enabled, our first order of business will be ensuring the authenticity of Electrum. For the PC's this must be done with PGP/GPG following the procedure spelled out on the Electrum website, or the secondary docs. It is absolutely critical that you are certain your using the correct ThomasV key. As of the time of this writing, the "correct" ThomasV key was:
ThomasV PGP: 6694 D8DE 7BE8 EE56 31BE D950 2BD5 824B 7F94 70E6
Once your Electrum install is validated, here is excruciating detail on creating and spending from a 3of3 multisig wallet. This assumes you have passphrases enabled on all your Trezors and that each has a unique name. For simplicity I will simply refer to their names at "trez-1", "trez-2", and "trez-3"

Three Wallet Creation passes

Do the following first for "trez-1", then for "trez-2" and finally for "trez-3". The order is VERY important:
  1. Wallet->New, name your wallet
  2. Then insert your Trezor ("trez-1", "trez-2", or "trez-3")
  3. Choose Multisig Wallet, then 3of3
  4. Choose Use a hardware device
  5. Select device
  6. Craft (and record) a new 6 word passphrase
  7. Choose Native Segwit derivation
  8. Record Zpub
  9. Unplug your Trezor ("trez-1", "trez-2", or "trez-3")
  10. Choose Add Cosigner Key
  11. Wait at "Add Cosigner 2" dialog

Distribute Zpubs to Finish Wallet Creation

When completing the setup for each wallet below you will be prompted for a wallet encryption password. I recommend you craft a unique six-word string as described above. If Electrum asks to reconnect to your HW wallet simply say "No". You will notice that the order is the reverse of the previous portion. As before, the order is VERY important,.
  1. Swap over to your trez-3 wallet
  2. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  3. Enter trez-1 Zpub
  4. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  5. Enter trez-2 Zpub
  6. Swap over to your trez-2 wallet
  7. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  8. Enter trez-3 Zpub
  9. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  10. Enter trez-1 Zpub
  11. Swap over to your trez-1 wallet
  12. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  13. Enter trez-2 Zpub
  14. Click "Enter Cosigner Key"
  15. Enter trez-3 Zpub
You can now close each wallet file.
You should now have recorded:
Keep the 12 secrets secure, separate and safe.

Receive funds into your 3of3 MS wallet

Receive just like any other wallet. All three wallets will watch the same set of addresses

Spend funds from your 3of3 MS wallet

  1. Create a TXN as you normally would on your first device
  2. In the TXN dialog hit "Preview" instead of Send
  3. In the Preview screen hit "Sign", then "Export"
  4. Copy the TXN over to your second device
  5. On your second device click Tools->Load Transaction
  6. Enter your partially signed TXN
  7. Verify the Status reads "Partially signed (1/3)"
  8. In the Preview screen hit "Sign", then "Export"
  9. Copy the TXN over to your third device
  10. On your third device click Tools->Load Transaction
  11. Enter your partially signed TXN
  12. Verify the Status reads "Partially signed (2/3)"
  13. In the Preview screen hit "Sign", then "Broadcast"

Conclusion

Certainly more complicated than a non MS wallet, but a lot more secure. Also be aware that the Segwit MS TXNs are about 40% larger than the native Segwit TXNs, so this does generate some additional cost in TXN fees.

Generating HD wallet addresses from xpub key using PHP, up to date method? $100 BTC reward for help!

Hi, I've been trying to get this working for a short while now and I am at a loss of what else to do.
I initially found this guide: https://freedomnode.com/blog/58/generate-bitcoin-wallet-addresses-from-extended-public-key-with-php
But have been getting this error:
Fatal error: Uncaught InvalidArgumentException: Invalid fingerprint for BIP32 key, must be in range [0 - (2^31)-1] inclusive in [path_redacted]\vendor\bitwasp\bitcoin\src\Key\Deterministic\HierarchicalKey.php:82
I believe this error is caused by a fairly recent change to the repository, I've tried using these examples:
https://gist.github.com/daftspunk/8cc1dd787e97bcf4fa563a83102597c1
https://www.reddit.com/Bitcoin/comments/4j468c/php_to_generate_hd_addresses_coding_issues/
Same issue, can anyone with more knowledge on this help to debug? Able to offer a $100 BTC reward! Thanks :)

Lightning point of sale.

Point Of Sale (POS) is one area bitcoin does not have much dominance.
Every professional point of sale suite / system, and every good point of sale app on iOS and Android does not offer the option to accept bitcoin payments directly.
These days most new small start-up businesses (cafes, restaurants, clothing stores etc) are avoiding the expensive traditional POS systems and they are opting to just use their ipad or tablet and downloading a high quality point of sale app, of which there are many.
A large majority of small businesses are doing this to save money in their early stages, and those small businesses in developing countries like south east asia, africa, india and south america are most of the time accepting cash only. Their point of sale app is just a way to keep track of inventory, calculate incoming cash payments, give change, and basically keep good reporting of total sales, highest grossing items etc.
Its a shame that none of these "go-to" popular POS apps have bitcoin as an option. The options are always just cash, visa, mastercard. And accepting credit cards comes with high monthly subscription costs and the loss of 2% of every transaction.
What if some of the most popular POS apps on the app store gave the option to add bitcoin. Or more specifically LN payments.
It would allow for every new business, or every existing business who uses a POS app to press a button, add an xpub key and boom, they are now professionally set up to accept bitcoin.
Given, most will not do this until bitcoin can display stability. But atleast that option would then always be there in the future for them to simply turn on.
If you believe bitcoin will become mainstream, then a fantastic business to start building now would be a free to use high quality POS app with the option to accept either cash or LN bitcoin payments. This would also bring competition to other existing POS apps who may follow suit.
With LN basically here and adoption the only thing standing in our way, having a few popular POS apps integrating the ability to accept LN payments would be a fantastic opportunity.
Imagine if all new businesses around the world were using a POS app that could at any time begin recieving bitcoin LN payments by pressing a button. By the press of a button hundreds of thousands of businesses could simply turn on bitcoin payments all at once.
We have bitcoin wallets, we have bitpay for those who want to recieve bitcoin but get dollars. But what we dont have yet is bitcoin integration into high quality POS apps.
We either build it ourselves or we start pushing for existing POS apps to integrate LN payments by way of emailing their customer support.
TLDR;
Merchants will only accept bitcoin if it is integrated into their POS system or available in the POS app they use, because hacking on a bitcoin wallet does not integrate into their business needs, like inventory tracking, complex sales reports etc. This is true even of tiny cafes.
We wont see merchant adoption until they can easily just switch it on within their existing POS set up.
Luckily, it seems that square (the most popular POS app) is looking into letting users buy and sell bitcoin.
We need square to push a software update that allows their millions of users to be able to just press a button and start accepting bitcoin within their POS system. Click "accept bitcoin", punch in your xpub key, and like magic you can accept bitcoin through your existing set up completely integrated with the rest of your business.
Once square does this all their competitors will follow.

Groestlcoin ivendPay Integration

ivendPay and Groestlcoin cryptocurrency have announced the start of integration.
IT company ivendPay, the developer of a universal multicurrency payment module for automatic and retail trade, intends to integrate Groestlcoin cryptocurrency — one of the oldest and the most reputable Bitcoin forks into the payment system. Groestlcoin is characterized by instant transactions with almost zero commission and is optimal for mass retail trade where micropayments are mostly used.
According to Sergey Danilov, founder and CEO of ivendPay, Groestlcoin will become the 11th cryptocurrency integrated into the payment module. The first working vending machines for the sale of coffee, snacks and souvenirs, equipped with ivendPay modules, served the visitors of the CryptoEvent RIW exhibition at VDNKh in Moscow and accepted Bitcoin, Go Byte, Dash, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Zcash, Bitcoin Gold, Dogecoin and Emercoin. ivendPay terminals are designed and patented to accept payments in electronic money, cryptocurrencies and cash when connecting the corresponding cash terminal. Payment for the purchase takes a few seconds, the choice of the payment currency occurs at the time of placing the order on the screen, the payment is made by QR-code through the cryptocurrency wallet on the smartphone.
The interest in equipping vending machines with ivendPay terminals has already been shown by the companies of Malaysia and Israel, where first test networks would be installed. ivendPay compiles a waiting list for vending networks interested in buying terminals and searches for an investor to launch industrial production. According to Sergey Danilov, the universal payment terminal ivendPay for the vending machine will cost about $500. The founder of ivendPay has welcomed the appearance of Groestlcoin among integrated cryptocurrencies, as it is another step towards the realization of the basic idea of digital money - free and cross-border access to goods and services for everybody.

If someone has my public adress 1 & 2 can they know all my id?

Let's say I recieve bitcoins from Coinbase to public adress 1 & 2. Later I recieve bitcoins from anonymous sources to public adress 3,4 & 5.
Now If I use coinjoin on 3, 4 & 5 and make sure to never release my XPUB, is there any way Coinbase can use a algorithm to figure out that 3, 4 & 5 also belong to me, destroying my privacy?
What about future when quantum computing comes, then all my bitcoin adresses will be public knowledge as long as the Quantum computer knows adress 1 & 2 belong to me, it will calculate and reveal all my other public adresses?

Get wallet balance with XPUB per 31.12.2017

I am looking for a wallet that can import multiple extended public keys (XPUB) and display the balance for a specific date.
Why? In Switzerland, bitcoin is taxed as property, so only property tax (about 0.2%) has to be payed for the market value you are holding at the end of the year. No capital gains tax is applicable, unless you're a professional trader. I think that's more than fair and (if known in advance) very easy to calculate.
However, I learned that a few days ago. And heck, how can I get a screenshot of my holdings, as they are on multiple hardware wallets and none have to functionality to display the wallet balance for a specific date.
Is there a wallet that supports that specific functionality?

[Question] Looking for a simple single checkout combo with both Bitcoin + Stripe.

Looking for a single checkout combo for Bitcoin + Stripe (credit card)
I want to sell my products to everyone, both Bitcoin and Credit card.
Requirements:
  1. Bitcoin payments are handled with xpub in HD manner, new addresses for each transaction. (priced in USD)
  2. Stripe payments pop up the stripe payment gizmos.
  3. Collect shipping information, gives a csv download.
  4. Basic SKU name+price management page
Not much fat:
  1. No "store" needed
  2. No conversion for Bitcoin to fiat needed (keep BTC in BTC for 100% of the sales)
Not required, bonus features:
  1. shipping calculation for a major provider
  2. paypal integration
  3. Inventory features
Already looked, but don't solve my problem:
Willing to pay $30/mo+1%
Edit: looks like I'm going to have to setup Shopify cart, then connect to Stripe, paypal and GoCoin.
Still looking for a better solution.

BIP 32/39/44 Seed Portability?

This article - Why do my BIP32 wallets disagree? is a bit disconcerting.
Results below provide evidence by example that Trezor and libbitcoin's bitcoin-explorer (bx) command line interface have seed portability.
I thought I would try using the bitcoin-explorer (bx) command to see results generated to contrast to the article for m/44'/60'/0'/0/0.
% echo "radar blur cabbage chef fix engine embark joy scheme fiction master release" | bx mnemonic-to-seed | bx hd-new -v 76066276 | bx hd-private -d -i 44 | bx hd-private -d -i 60 | bx hd-private -d -i 0 | bx hd-private -i 0 | bx hd-private -i 0 | bx hd-to-ec

*For an uncompressed public key:*

After dropping the leading 0x04 from the uncompressed public key, a keccak hash function (used by both Ethereum and Monero; is not NIST's SHA3-256) is applied.
% ./keccak -256 05b7d0996e99c4a49e6c3b83288f4740d53662839eab1d97d14660696944b8bbe24fabdd03888410ace3fa4c5a809e398f036f7b99d04f82a012dca95701d103 0AB3387A148B3C4B18C333FCAC39B311DCEB2A4B2F5D8461C1CDAF756F4F7AE9
The bolded 20 byte Ethereum address immediately above matches the "Otherwise" result in the article up top.
*For a compressed public key:*
% echo b96e9ccb774cc33213cbcb2c69d3cdae17b0fe4888a1ccd343cbd1a17fd98b18 | bx ec-to-public

After dropping the leading 0x03 from the compressed public key,
% ./keccak -256 05b7d0996e99c4a49e6c3b83288f4740d53662839eab1d97d14660696944b8bb 1BE3816C914DCFF6C350BBFB1AEC8694FC4F546191026031FEFFB312D342B93B
For grins, I decided to generate a comparable situation for Trezor using its web interface. I used the Trezor (with firmware v1.3.6 and v1.4) recovery instructions for the pertinent 12 word recovery seed, "radar blur cabbage chef fix engine embark joy scheme fiction master release", to see what the results are for an extended M/44'/0'/0'/0 xpub key to contrast to bx calculations. The resulting xpub key resulting from two restores is:
xpub6DHi64TFkDPx2AH4q2ku3vX9LJYNpTis5tLrET8Sb9irp174eCkgtAnvBpyzQXgrtmF31Lrq4gTMGFUGcjJicMu9LdueVdqt6FZ2Wzcg8Fj

Seed word results from Trezor and libbitcoin are consistent!!!

Calculating total fees paid

Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, I'm trying to figure out a way to do this without writing new software.
I'm trying to see if there's a simple way I can calculate total network fees paid from a large list of transactions.
The only thing I've found is blockonomics - however, it seems like the only way to import previous transactions / addresses is by utilizing an xpub. This is an issue because I utilize bitcoin core for my wallet, and bitcoin core does not allow exporting of the xpub, even though it's an HD wallet (utilizes hardened derivation).
The CSV I can export from bitcoin core only shows me the total amount sent on each transaction (non-change output + fee).

Blockonomics.co overview (quick and easy way to send hosted invoices to others)

Blockonomics.co has a couple very interesting tools I want to highlight. They just recently announced their new merchant API that web or app developers can use to integrate invoicing and payment tracking into their projects. However, here's three things that any Bitcoiner can do with Blockonomics right now:
Thanks to the Blockonomics team for some unique and useful (yet permissionless and private) tools!

Announcing Bitprices.info -- Price History reporting for your wallet transactions plus HD Wallet Address Discovery. ( 2 new open source tools )

Hey folks. I've created a couple new command-line tools and a simple website interface for them that requires no registration or signup. At this point, I think they are ready for some public testing and feedback. Maybe you will find them useful. ;-)
The website is mybitprices.info. The site provides two related tools:
1) Price History Reporting: Enter your wallet addresses and view customizable transaction reports with historic price information, as well as present day price, and the difference (gain/loss). Euros and other major fiat currencies are supported, in addition to USD.
Also available is a disposal (sales) report showing realized gains in schedule D format. Disclaimer: This is for informational purposes only and should NOT be submitted with your taxes. Consult with a qualified tax professional. Author not responsible for any calculation error, etc.
This reporting uses data from the blockchain via btcd as well historic price information from bitcoinaverage.com.
2) HD Wallet Address Discovery: Enter your HD wallet's master XPub key and the tool will automatically find all of your wallet addresses that have been used to date, including change addresses. These addresses can then be used in the Price History tool, or for your own purposes.
Many (most?) HD Wallets do not provide a complete list of used addresses, but do provide the master XPub key. So this tool empowers users by providing information kept hidden by their own wallet software.
This tool supports CoPay multi-sig wallets (which use multiple XPub keys) and in theory should work with other multi-sig wallets that implement Bip44.
--- Command line tool: bitprices ---
The price history reporting is powered by bitprices, a new open-source tool with a lot of flexibility.
The tool can connect to multiple blockchain API's including btcd, toshi and insight. btcd is fastest as the btcd developers were kind enough to accept a patch I wrote that speeds up the necessary query by orders of magnitude for some cases.
--- Command line tool: hd-wallet-addrs ---
The HD Wallet Discovery is powered by hd-wallet-addrs. This tool automatically derives wallet addresses and then queries a blockchain API to determine if the addresses have been used or not. The supported blockchain APIs are: toshi, insight, and blockchain.info. The Bip32 heavy lifting is done by the fantastic BitWasp bitcoin-php library.
These are open source projects and I welcome feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and contributions.
