If you've seen the new Forbes video from the sushi meet up, then you've seen our team and our new app. Introducing ZeroBlock, an app for realtime market data and news aggregation (including r/bitcoin!).

Hello bitcoin! We are the ZeroBlock team. Bitcoin is going mainstream, and its time for a serious bitcoin app. Our new app was finally approved a few hours ago - it's the slickest bitcoin app to hit the public.
The first iteration includes real time Mt. Gox price and Blockchain data. Further, the app aggregates bitcoin articles from 5 different sources (including bitcoin posts).
If you are like us, then you'll be opening this app every 10 seconds to watch the market and look for new Bitcoin publications. We would be honored to have bitcoin's feedback as well.
Our future plans are extremely ambitious. Within the next 7-14 days we will push an update that includes the following:
For all you Android users out there, don't worry, we are working on app for you as well. Website in development. Other surprises in development. Tell us what you want. We will be at the Bitcoin conference in San Jose if you'd like to meet up with us.
An IAMA from the team coming soon! Keep an eye out.

Can AM show the keywords which trigger it into action?

I receive a lot of erroneous notifications from this rule. It would be useful to see which words are falsely triggering it into action. Here's a rule I use:
--- ###### Section 2A - Blacklisted Words title+body (regex): ["Bitcoin AT", "BitcoinAT", "EtherWall","Ether Wall", "Ether Wall Core", "EtherWallCore", "Bitcoin Asia", "BitcoinAsia", "THE BILLION COIN", "XchangeChina", "ExchangeChina", "Exchange China", "Xchange China", " XchangeChlna", "XchangeChlna", "ExchangeChinna", "Exchangee China", "Sur Bitcoin","SurBitcoin", "Bitcion A-Trade", "Bitcoin Asia", "BitcoinAsia"] # Reserved words to check: "no fees", "no fee" "anonymous deposits", "anonymous deposit", "anonymous withdrawal", "anonymous withdrawals", "pairs added", , "% better", "promo", "limited time", "promotion", "trade before", "get improved", "eth-usd", "trading rate", "% improved", "up to 10", "by 10", "up to 1", "ether-usd", "zeroblock", "no trading fees", "Xchange", , "make some money with trading", "make money with trading", "make money trading", ~title+body (case-sensitive): ["my promotion", "myetherwallet", "ATM"] action: filter action_reason: "AutoMod rule section 2A - Blacklisted Words." modmail_subject: "Scam Warning" modmail: | This item was filtered because it contains suspsicous words associated with scams. Please investigate.
Thanks for any help with this.

New service Cryptonica - special heads up for this sub!

Happy to announce a new crypto currency trading platform is coming - Cryptonica.
http://cryptonica.com
The site above now gives a taste of the unique way we handle crypto market order books (in this case the Bitstamp BTC/USD order book). If you see the "synchronized" status, you are often seeing what is happening in the order book a few seconds before users of other services. We will shortly add features allowing you to execute trades on your exchange accounts, and many other features.
UPDATE: there is already a loyal following developing! Big thanks to everyone for the early interest!!!
Background
Cryptonica is being created from code originally developed by a private crypto fund. We have the following objectives:-
1/ Provide crypto traders with more effective tools and help grow the number of traders.
2/ Create alternatives for RTBTC now it has been acquired by ZeroBlock and help drive technology forwards through competition.
Product Roadmap
We believe there are already plenty of great charting solutions, including BitcoinWisdom and TradingView. We focus primarily on the order book and optimizing for the increased volatility you see in crypto markets. This is our immediate roadmap:-
1/ Include the rapid trade execution features in our internal version
2/ Add support for other exchanges: Bitfinex, Huobi...
3/ Add support for additional currencies: Litecoin, TBD
4/ Include other advanced features subject to demand. Please see below.
Feedback Requested
We are seeking feedback on possible inclusion of these advanced features.
Automated trading strategies Automated trading strategy features can for example maintain buy or sell orders at specified distances below or above the current price measured by order depth or points (for example to catch the coins from a whale dumping and capitalize on spikes). The trade off is that if too many people use these features market "busyness" will be increased. What such features would you like to see included given they would be shared amongst many traders?
Trust-less security. Cryptonica can work without ever storing or handling your exchange API keys on its servers. With trust-less security your exchange key only needs to be stored locally in encrypted form by your Web browser and is never transmitted or shared with us. When the client needs the server to interact with the exchange, for example to create a new order for you, it simply creates the signature for the request and passes that to the server. A trade off is that your keys can be vulnerable to trojans and viruses running on your local machine (but of course it becomes harder for an attacker to obtain keys en masse by compromising the central servers). We'd like to know if you feel this is worth it?
Thanks for reading and see the comments for more info or to ask questions.

DDOS and Occam's Razor

I have spent the last few years in read-only mode on all things BTC on Reddit, mostly through the ZeroBlock app. First time poster.
I was aware of some DDOS activity on XT nodes, but was not fully educated on the matter until the Hearn departure with mic drop. From the New York Times article:
"The hacker responsible for the attack, who appeared to be based in Russia, told Mr. Hearn in an online exchange that someone “payed me for killing XT” — though he declined to say who was responsible."
It is obvious that the DDOS attacker had no interest in Bitcoin at all. He has a skill that he is selling on the Dark Markets and anonymous parties pay him with BTC for targeted attacks. The bitcoin censorship only slightly irritated most of us casual observers, but DDOSing XT nodes and bringing down ISP's and data centers is a whole new level of censorship. Who is truly responsible for these attacks? When there are competing explanations, the simpler one is usually correct (Occam's Razor). Questions you have to ask yourself:
Who had the financial means to pull this off? Who had the technical expertise to know this would work? Who had the motive? Who dropped out of the heated discussion?
People were calling for Peter Todd's head over his $10 example. Where is the outrage over the international cyber crime of DDOSing US based nodes?
Gregory Maxwell should get a knock on the door by the FBI. His Blockstream and bitcoin buddies will pull the same tactics on Bitcoin Classic or any other implementation that takes power away from his Core power trip. When Maxwell is viewed as the criminal he is, the rest of his buddies will turn their back on him and Bitcoin improvements have a chance.
As an aside, I entered a support ticket to ZeroBlock with the suggestion of changing their Reddit pointer to btc. If you guys know of any other apps that default to bitcoin discussion, help join the good fight by requesting a pointer change away from the evil censorship team.
